Our Fall lectures begin on Wednesday September 24th “Skullduggery to Preserve Heritage ” by Brian Smith,former Oak Bay Mayor and B.C.Attorney General
Wednesday October 15th ” Soul of a Wolf-Honouring Staqeya” by Kent Laforme,sculptor.The sculpture of Stqeye in Oak Bay represents a great leader for the Nation, the late Chief Robert Sam, and the arrival of the Wolf on Tl’ches days after his passing.
Thursday November 6th ” Documentary screening of Story Pole: Indigenous Veterans and the Tallest Pole in the World” explores the heritage of the famous totem pole that stands in Beacon Hill park and its connection to Indigenous Veterans. Produced by Geoff Bird, Professor of Royal Roads University under the guidance of Indigneous Elders from various Nations, Geoff will be joined by members of the Underwood family of the Tsawout Nation .
