On March 20, 2025, noted author, Helen Edwards, told the miraculous story of the Victoria Cougars winning the Stanley Cup in Oak Bay in 1925!
There was an excellent turnout of both hockey fans and fans of Helen’s great story telling ability. A “Silent Auction” was held and enthusiastic bidding ensued for the prizes of reproductions of the 1925 vintage Victoria Cougar’s hockey cap and jersey. The successful bidders left very pleased with their hockey memorabilia. The door prize, generously donated by Helen Edwards, was a copy of her newest book “The History of Professional Hockey in Victoria, BC: 1911-2011.” All funds from the auction and donations will continue to be used to further heritage preservation in Oak Bay.
