About Us

The Oak Bay Heritage Foundation was established in 1992, and is separately incorporated
under the Societies Act.
One of its purposes is to provide cost sharing grants to owners of Heritage Designated and
Registered properties to assist with preservation, maintenance or restoration.
The Foundation also promotes education and awareness of heritage in Oak Bay through:
▪ the Foundation website and Facebook page
▪ the Marion Cumming Heritage Lecture Series
▪ the Oak Bay Business Improvement Association Summer Markets
▪ Hallmark Heritage Society and Allan Cassidy Award nominations
▪ and other events or workshops
In addition, the Foundation provides bronze Century House plaques at cost, $150, to owners of
Oak Bay century homes, one hundred or more years old.
Volunteers who have an interest in Oak Bay’s history and who would enjoy being involved in
research and events are welcome. Please contact us at
